About the project
This title actually stands for three different board games, all three were designed by me with the artistic cooperation from Axel Schouten. These games were developed for a castle turned into a hotel, in Hungary. It was my first job ever and we had to manage everything from the start to the end. Since both of us were abroad for most of the time, it was also a project where we utilized all kinds of online communication and cooperation methods available.
The games
Each game is unique in its own way and I have intentionally designed them in a way that they can serve a wide audience, the guests of the hotel. The games scale from very simple to mid-level complex and have a variety in topic too, from dueling to auction.
Designing and creating the games
Since we worked in a team of two only, it meant that while Axel did all the actual drawing itself my part was doing everything else. This meant coordinating our work, designing and testing the game and a fair part of art design, as well as maintaining communication with our client and delivering and creating the final product. The final version of the game was printed with the help of an online site called ‘the Game Crafter’. This project had helped me to improve managing skills and gave me my first real work experience.
